SwimLessons and Competitive Swim
All members are allowed guest and visitor privileges. Guests must be house guests residing with a Club member during their stay on the Island. All guests must be accompanied by the Club member.
Open swim is from noon to 4:30 pm and 6 to 8 pm Monday–Thursday, noon to 8 pm on Friday and 10 am to 8 pm on Saturday and Sunday, except on evenings of functions.
We also offer an adult only swim from 7 am to 9 am daily for our adult members who like to get in some uninterrupted lap and quiet time.
The Haven Beach Club’s instructional swimming lessons are among the best on the Island! All of our staff are American Red Cross certified swim instructors.
Our eight-week lessons are held Monday through Friday mornings, 30 minutes per lesson. We encourage children from four years of age and older to participate in our lessons.
Lessons follow Red Cross guidelines, according to the following levels:
- Level 1: Introduction to Water Skills
- Level 2: Fundamental Aquatic Skills
- Level 3: Stroke Development
- Level 4: Stroke Improvement
- Level 5: Stroke Refinement
- Level 6: Skill Proficiency for the Fitness Swimmer
Private one-on-one lessons may also be arranged between a member and a swimming instructor.
Swim Team members range from ages six to 17. Our team competes with other clubs on the Island–Barnegat Light, Brant Beach and Surf City Yacht Clubs and St. Francis Center.
We practice from Monday through Thursday on non-meet days.
Age 8 and under swim from 4-4:30 pm and the older kids practice from 4:30 – 6 pm.
On Fridays, there is an optional practice from 4-5 pm for all ages.
